Redondo Beach tutor: English essays

Imagining a world if kids didn’t study English is unlikely but imagining a world where students didn’t fully grasp the many facets of English is more realistic. In terms of academics, a student’s English skills are tested through SATs, SAT IIs, and personal statements for college apps. In society, challenges posed include presenting themselves as strong oral and written communicators who are educated and literate. Furthermore, it is commonly believed that the ability to read and write is inversely proportional to one’s ability to take in information as well as to think critically about the information. By covering the basics of English and walking students through the writing process, students are able to continually build upon their reading and comprehension skills.

Importance of Math Tutoring

In the teaching profession, the most asked question by students is “why do I have to know this?”  Ancient people, famous books, and complicated mathematical formulas appear to be an archaic way keeping children busy at school.  However, at Study Hut Tutoring we understand that while the concepts learned in such classes as Algebra and Geometry seem pointless, they are actually important pieces in a large puzzle that makes up a child’s education.  Every lesson taught and every formula memorized plays an important role in a student’s future.  A very simple example is that each individual mathematical concept builds on the one before it, in a process that prepares a students understanding for a college atmosphere (not just in math, but the sciences as well).  But even more importantly, these concepts collectively teach a student important lessons like problem solving, rational thinking, and study habits.

My Daughter Needs Help in School! What Should I Do?

Hi Study Hut Tutoring,

My daughter is an 8th grader at a middle school in the Torrance

Unified School District, and this year she has really been struggling with her classes. I’m not sure if her classes are getting harder, she isn’t trying as hard as she used to, sports are taking up too much of her time or what! I know she’s a bright girl and she’s always done well in her classes before, but I just don’t know what’s happening this year. Can you offer some advice? Thanks!
