When Should My Student Start?

• Ideal Start Time: Spring of 10th grade or early 11th grade. This allows time for diagnostics, personalized prep, and targeted growth.
• Late Start? No Problem: We offer accelerated programs and custom-tailored plans for students on tighter timelines.

What’s On the SAT and ACT?

SAT (Digital as of 2024):

• Reading & Writing: Grammar, reading comprehension, vocabulary-in-context
• Math: Algebra, advanced math, data analysis, problem-solving
• Format: Adaptive, digital, shorter (around 2 hours)
• Scored out of 1600

ACT:

• English: Grammar, sentence structure
• Math: Up to trigonometry
• Reading: Fast-paced comprehension
• Science: Data and experimental analysis
• Optional Essay: Rarely required now
• Scored out of 36

Which Colleges Require or Consider SAT/ACT?

Test-Required

• Certain state systems or programs (e.g., Florida public universities, military academies)

Test-Recommended

• Many selective private schools (e.g., Georgia Tech, Purdue, MIT, Dartmouth recently reinstated)

Test-Optional

• Most universities (e.g., USC, Tulane, Boston College) allow submission but don’t require

Test-Blind

• A few, like UC schools (e.g., UCLA, UC Berkeley), don’t consider scores at all
