Advanced Writing Workshop

  • 1-on-1 tailored reading/writing instruction
  • Flexible scheduling: 2x/week [90 min] sessions recommended
  • Packages: 18, 24, or 30 hours
  • Learn to write different essays: Expository writing, narrative essays, persuasive Essay, research writing
  • Debates & how to take notes effectively using Ted Talk Videos
  • Take the stress out of the writing process with intro paragraph & thesis strategies
  • Prepare students to be successful in both CP & Honors English classes

Expository Essay

  • Purpose: To explain or inform using facts and logic
  • Structure: Intro + body paragraphs with supporting evidence + Conclusion
  • Example prompt: Explain the causes and effects of pollution

Persuasive Essay (Argumentative Essay)

  • Purpose: to convince the reader to accept a specific point of view
  • Structure: Claims, evidence, counterarguments, rebuttals
  • Example Prompt: Should school uniforms be mandatory?

Narrative Essay

  • Purpose: to tell a story, often personal, with a clear beginning, middle and end
  • Tone: reflective, creative, first person
  • Example prompt: Describe a time you overcame a major challenge

Descriptive Essay

  • Purpose: to paint a vivid picture using sensory details
  • Focus: people, places, objects, or moments
  • Example Prompt: Describe your favorite place in nature and why it brings you peace

Analytical Essay

  • Purpose: To analyze a work (literature, art, film, historical event) by breaking it into components
  • Focus: interpretation, argument, and support
  • Example prompt: Analyze the role of symbolism in “the Great Gatsby”

Research Paper

  • Purpose: to investigate a topic in-depth using sources, citations, and formal tone
  • Example prompt: Explore the impact of renewable energy policies on US emissions over the past decade

1-on-1 Math Workshop

  • Tailored grade level math instruction
  • Review previous difficult concepts while Building students’ foundation before next math class
  • Pre & Post Assessment
  • Flexible scheduling: 2x/week [1 hour] sessions recommended
  • Packages: 12, 16, or 20 hours
  • Rebuild foundation holes that weren’t properly addressed during the school year; summer is the perfect time to repair that foundation.
