Redondo Union High School Spanish Tutoring: Finals time

Spring is in the air in the South Bay, and finals are right around the corner at Redondo Union High School. As tutors, we know that one of the subjects that requires the most practice and review is Spanish, especially around finals season! With our one-on-one sessions, we not only help students understand supplementary vocabulary, but we also help students get a better handle on how to properly execute correct grammar. With the year coming to a close, the newest material is often the hardest to understand in the least time to understand it.

Some things that students will encounter before the end of the year include conjugating the Subjunctive, Preterit, and Imperfect verb tenses as well as how to properly use commands when speaking. At Study Hut, we not only help students get a better handle on new material when it is encountered, but we also help them review it effectively in the final weeks so they can continue their understanding before test time.

It is no mystery that simply completing homework is not sufficient practice when learning to speak a new language. At Study Hut, we help students with understanding of material as well as practicing the vocal aspect of learning a new language. Our tutors utilize conversational practice and memory devices, including time-honored flash cards, to ensure that students not only understand the material when it is read or written, but that they can properly say what is on their page.

The tutors at Study Hut Tutoring know that a new language is hard enough to learn with verb conjugations, vocabulary, and pronunciation. With test anxiety on top of all the material, we always opt for practice tests during the last 15 or 20 minutes of a session, especially when a test is scheduled around the corner. Whether it is conversational practice, verbal flash card review, or written exercises, we know that additional practice without the assistance of a text book is essential.
