Parras Middle School Tutoring

So it has become apparent to us at the Study Hut that some Math students at Parras Middle School are getting started on graphing linear functions. Are slope, intercept, domain, and range not making a lot of sense at first? And what’s the deal with quadrants and coordinates?

If you’re in Algebra or Pre-Algebra, and your palms get clammy at the sight of graph paper, never fear. The tutors at Study Hut are well versed in the methods of graphing linear equations and quadratic equations.

A problem that beginning Algebra students face when it comes to graphing is the understanding of what different key words mean. Though it seems like a pretty basic problem to solve, not thoroughly understanding what a graph says on paper will lead to misinterpreting it in a graph, and vice-versa. More questions besides “what does Rise over Run mean?”, often follow and Study Hut tutors know what to expect next. By going over the lessons presented in the book and tying it back to what students go over in their Algebra and Pre-Algebra classes, tutors can help with some comprehensive practice that not only answers the questions at hand, but review the basics and prepare for upcoming algebra problems at the same time. We also offer practice tests to help you feel more comfortable with new material in a test format. Other upcoming topics besides beginning graphing that we can help with include systems of equations, linear inequalities, and the always dreaded word problems. Help is available for nearly any topic covered in your Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, or Algebra 2 classes.

So Parras students, never fear. If you’re lost because you missed something Mr. Nannini said in class, or you’re stressing over Mr. Steinman’s next test, or you just want some help getting a better grade in Mrs. Schwartz’s class, we’ve got the answers to your questions.
